About Messingwerk Plettenberg
Founded in 1902, Messingwerk Plettenberg is today a leading manufacturer of industrial strip and welded tubes made of brass and other copper alloys.
We are proud of our independence from corporate groups. As a medium-sized company, we have been able to continuously develop our production over decades.
As we are not dependent on banks or other external investors, the short-term positive presentations in quarterly reports are secondary to our actual goal of long-term positive corporate development.
For many decades, we have invested the vast majority of our earnings in the continuous modernization of our production facilities. In the last few years in particular, we have significantly expanded our capacity and further modernized our machinery.
At our site in the Sauerlandregion (North Rhine-Westphalia), we manufacture precision strip and high-frequency welded MOTEC® tubes for a large number of demanding industry customers in Germany and for export.

The guiding principle for our actions towards customers, employees and suppliers is the value of reliability. We are proud that the name “Messingwerk Plettenberg” today stands for three promises that we make to our customers in Germany and abroad:

Company history
Messingwerk Plettenberg was founded more than 100 years ago in 1902. Our roots go back even further - to the 19th century, when the company Geck & Schmidt produced 20 kg brass sheets at the same site in Plettenberg. These plates were then processed into brass wire and sheets. Initially, the water power of the nearby river Lenne was used for this production.
Due to extensive investments, Messingwerk Plettenberg has developed over the years into one of the most technically advanced manufacturers of precision strip and tubes in Europe.
